Those charged with restoring the SS Nomadic are considering introducing a time capsule.The idea behind the scheme is that it will give visitors the chance to experience what life was like in Belfast in 1911, the BBC reports.
Initially it had been expected that the Nomadic Trust Fund would seek £1.5 million, but with the addition of this idea it is believed to be revising its original estimate.
The vessel is famous for ferrying passengers to the Titanic and it was also built in the same Harland and Wolff dockyard as the legendary liner.
According to the news provider, the restoration project has been boosted by a number of grants, including £2.2m from the European Union.
The final cost of the restoration is estimated to be as much as £7 million.
Conor McClelland, the proprietor and chef at Rayanne House, recently recreated the final meal on the Titanic at his restaurant.
