Belfast Film Festival is 'highly anticipated'

The Belfast Film Festival kicks off this weekend and the director of the event admits she cannot wait to get going.

It will be running until April 30th and Michele Devlin noted told the Belfast Telegraph that there is "incredible anticipation" for the different number of events set to take place.

"As well as programming a bold mix of international and European films, we are proud to be premiering three local Irish films," she added.

Two actors born on the island - Ciaran Hinds and John Lynch - will be attending the premiers of their respective pictures.

The news provider stated that the latter actor will also be giving an acting master class, as well as reading an extract from his latest novel.

Francis Ford Coppola's newest offering - Tetro - will also be on show and it is the first original screenplay that he has written since the 1974 movie The Conversation.
