F1 car to be driven in Belfast city centre

Fans of Formula One in Belfast will be able to see a version of the machines that compete in the championship driven through the city centre.

David Coulthard, a former grand prix winner, will whizz a Red Bull down Wellington Place before ending up Donegal Square East.

People will also get the chance to see the vehicle up close and personal as it will be stationed outside the city hall from 12:00 to 16:00 GMT on Saturday March 20th.

Coulthard told the BBC that he is looking forward to the event, which will allow individuals to witness more than ever before.

"I know Belfast is renowned for its love of motorsports and I'm sure I'll get an amazing welcome as always," he added.

It was recently announced that a supercars are to visit the capital as well.

The Claddagh GT Tour will give motorists the chance to see a number of prestigious automobiles, the Belfast Telegraph reported.
