Chipmunk to headline St Patrick's Day festival

It has been announced that MOBO award-winning musician Chipmunk will be headlining this years St Patrick's Day festival.

The 19-year-old, whose real name is Jahmaal Noel Fyffe, will be joined on stage by the former XFactor contestant, Ruth Lorenzo.

Lord Mayor Naomi Long noted that the council had been working very hard to ensure that all sections of the society will enjoy the event.

She added: "Over the past number of years, St Patrick's Day has become one of the undoubted highlights of Belfast City Council's events calendar and this year will see the event continue to grow."

Tickets for the concert are limited to four per person and they can be collected from the Belfast Welcome Centre in Donegall Place - anyone under 16 attending must be accompanied by an adult.

It was recently announced that DJ Fatboy Slim would be the first person to play a gig at Giant's Park - which is situated at the north foreshore of Belfast Lough - on May 8th.
