Ulster Museum busiest tourist attraction

The Ulster Museum, which was recently reopened after extensive refurbishment, is the busiest tourist attraction in Northern Ireland.

Over 200,000 people have visited it since its £17.2 million redevelopment, the Belfast Telegraph reports.

Tim Cooke, director of museums Northern Ireland, noted that the building was continuing to draw people from far and wide.

He told the paper: "We have in place a varied range of programming and partnership activity and would invite those who haven't yet experienced the new Ulster Museum to come and see it for themselves."

And the news provider also revealed that the schools education programme is fully booked right up until June - with a series of art exhibitions to be launched next month that will showcase the best in Irish art as well as international talent.

One of the exhibitions currently showing at the museum is Flights of Fancy, which is a collection of over 2,000 of mounted birds.
