New movie to be filmed in Belfast

A new film is to be made in Belfast, chronicling the tales of a band trying to make its name at the same time as U2, which may interest fans of Ben Barnes, who is to play one of the lead roles.

Barnes - who starred in the recent adaptation of C S Lewis's Chronicles of Narnia - is to take on the part of Neil McCormick, author of autobiography I Was Bono's Doppelganger, which the picture - called Killing Bono - is based on.

It tells the tale of two brothers who dream of achieving success as rock stars but come up against a rival group, U2.

Shooting is due to start on January 11th and others involved include Robert Sheehan, who is to play Barnes' brother.

According to the Belfast Telegraph, a musician from Castledawson is to take on the soundtrack for the film. Ciaran Gribbin was recently nominated for a Grammy for Madonna's track Celebration, which he co-wrote.ADNFCR-1390-ID-19531942-ADNFCR
