Major passenger investment at airport

A huge new investment is being made in passenger facilities at Belfast International Airport.

A new airbridge is set to be installed at the airport, which is coinciding with the fourth birthday of Continental Airlines.

Costing £500,000, the airbridge will mainly be used by passengers flying with Continental Airlines on transatlantic journeys.

John Doran, managing director of Belfast International Airport, said: "It is wonderful that we are able to stand here today and announce more investment into passenger facilities.

"We are committed to enhancing the passenger experience, and indeed the tourist experience, as soon as you step on or off a flight at Belfast International Airport."

Arlene Foster, the tourism minister, added: "If Northern Ireland is to continue to grow its tourist numbers, it must offer a top class experience from the moment a visitor steps off the plane, collects their baggage, gets into a taxi, right through to their arrival at the hotel and beyond."

The new airbridge is part of a wider £10 million renovation of Belfast International Airport's facilities.ADNFCR-1390-ID-19229053-ADNFCR
