£10 million facelift for Belfast International Airport

A large investment is being made in Belfast International Airport to improve facilities and the overall customer experience.

Work is set to start on a £10 million redevelopment of the hub, which is being funded privately and will include features such as a relocation of central security.

This is being done to speed up the journey time of travellers going through the airport.

The development will include a reconfiguration of the duty-free area, creating room for an additional 20 retail, food and drink stores.

John Doran, managing director of Belfast International Airport, said: "Our exciting plans to improve the terminal building will transform Belfast International Airport.

"We will be creating modern, spacious and service-focused facilities designed to make the airport easy and convenient to use. The construction will not affect the day to day operations of the airport and we will be taking all the necessary steps to ensure that passengers are not unduly inconvenienced."
