Writers urged to head to Belfast for inspiration

A writer has revealed how an expedition to Belfast can inspire a literary mind with its numerous exciting attractions.

Preeti Verma has suggested that inspiration can be found for writers wandering the streets of the Irish capital.

Writing for the India Times, he urged fellow writers and Indians to head to Belfast for a visit littered with cultural delights.

Commenting on the Titanic Quarter, he said: "That day in Belfast I hurried from literature to a luxurious tragedy. I just stood there stupefied waiting for some inspiration to walk my way.

"That rainy day in Belfast - a city that not many Indians think of checking out, utilising their British visas - I perhaps waited too long for inspiration, but when none moseyed up to me on the sidewalk, I chose titanic options."

One reason many people come to Belfast for is Edith Devlin's weekly world literature classes at Queen's University.
