People wishing to compete in one of Belfast's most prestigious sporting events can take advantage of a special deal if they hurry.The 2009 Belfast City Marathon is already in the process of being organised, with promoters hoping next year's event will be the biggest and best in the race's history.
For people wishing to plan their flights in and out of Belfast and book their place in the race in advance, a discount is available.
Danny O'Connor, chairman of the Belfast City Marathon organising committee, revealed that early-birds can take advantage of a promotion to get people to enter way in advance of the May 4th event.
"Get your entry in before November 9th and we'll knock ten per cent off your fee," he said.
Starting at City Hall and ending in Ormeau Park, the marathon will offer a £1,000 bonus to the first male and female athlete to break the event's records, with Marashet Jumma doing so in the women's section last year.
More than 15,000 people are expected to compete in the Irish capital's athletics showcase.
