First passengers enjoy new Dundee to Belfast flight

Air travel is now possible between Dundee and Belfast thanks to a new route launched by Scottish airline Loganair.

In a franchise agreement with Flybe, Loganair has created a new base at Dundee Airport and now operates one return service to Belfast City each weekday as well as flights to Birmingham.

Scott Grier, Chairman of Loganair, said: "These two new flights to Birmingham and Belfast are a welcome addition to the growing network of air services we currently offer travellers in and around Scotland and we look forward to growing our offering in Dundee in the years to come."

Transport minister Stewart Stevenson was at the airport to unveil a plaque to mark the occasion.

"The people of Dundee, Belfast and Birmingham can look forward to fast, efficient services as a result of this announcement," said Mr Stevenson.

Loganair is Scotland's longest serving airline having provided flights throughout Scotland, Ireland and the Isle of Man for over 40 years.ADNFCR-1390-ID-18608316-ADNFCR
