Belfast's first Polish restaurant opens

In what is a sure sign of Belfast's increasing multicultural diversity, the city's first Polish restaurant has opened on Cregagh Road.

Called Cracow City, the establishment serves traditional Polish dishes such as Krokiet and Bigos and is a welcome addition for visitors to the Northern Irish city wishing to sample to alternative cuisine.

Krokiet is croquette with cabbage and mushrooms, and Bigos is chopped cabbage with pork, sausage, herbs, and mashed potatoes.

There are some 20,000 Poles in Belfast and they - along with visitors to this marvellous European city - will appreciate the new outlet serving familiar food.

"I've been in Belfast for three years and I missed Polish food," said owner Krzysztof Choolyniecki.

"I kept wondering who was going to open a restaurant and no one did so I did it myself."

Alls the staff are Polish, so visitors can expect an authentic experience.
