New art gallery opens near Belfast

A new art gallery dedicated to showcasing the work of local artists has opened near Belfast.

Artz Yard Art Gallery is located in the seaside town of Portaferry, County Down, an area of outstanding natural beauty.

"The shores of Strangford Lough have long been a haven for artists," the gallery states on its website.

"Artz Yard will show a wide range of work by established artists from the area and from further afield, as well as promoting up and coming artists emerging on the Irish art scene today."

Artists on show at the gallery include locals from the Strangford Lough area, as well as those from elsewhere in Ireland.

The Belfast Telegraph describes Artz Yard as "a lovely, bright, new space".

Other attractions for visitors to Belfast include the famous murals depicting the Troubles, and there is a host of top-notch bars and restaurants.
