Aer Lingus to begin Paris to Belfast route

Aer Lingus is to begin operating a new service between Belfast International and Paris Charles de Gaulle from next month.

The daily flight will begin on March 30th, with fares costing from £25 one-way, including taxes and charges.

However, the Irish national airline will also reduce its service on the Amsterdam to Belfast route, from twice daily to once daily. The redeployment will allow for the Paris route, and will offer customers "additional choice", the airline said.

Paris is the tenth route that Aer Lingus offers from Belfast, with others including Barcelona and Geneva. This means that people from all over Europe can fly to the Northern Ireland capital and enjoy all it has to offer.

Rome, Budapest, Malaga and Faro routes will all begin within the next few weeks.

Airline chief executive Dermot Mannion said: "Our market research has shown strong demand for Paris, Charles de Gaulle while Northern Ireland is increasingly popular with French visitors.

"We are delighted to be able to capitalise on this demand by launching Aer Lingus' low-cost, superior service offering on this route."
