Belfast International 'should be better connected'

Belfast International Airport should get better roads and public transport links.

That's according to Andy Harrison, the chief executive of low-cost airline easyJet, which is the largest user of the Northern Irish hub.

"You know better than me how long it can take with all the traffic problems to travel from Belfast to the International Airport," he said, the Belfast Telegraph reports.

"If I was the Lord Mayor of Belfast I think I would be directing all investment to Belfast International and ensuring that the city has one really good airport, the approach taken by most other cities in Europe.

"The sensible thing would be to invest in better ground links to Belfast International, the airport which is best placed for growth in the next few years."

Mr Harrison also predicted huge growth at Belfast International this year, in spite of competition from airlines such as Ryanair and Aer Lingus.

Destinations offered by easyJet from Belfast International include Amsterdam, Barcelona and London Gatwick.
