New kids on the Belfast block

Comeback band New Kids on the Block are set to perform a special reunion gig in Belfast in the new year.

Back in the Nineties, the group were one of the biggest acts on the planet and paved the way for the likes of the Backstreet Boys and, this side of the pond, Boyzone and Take That, to become international stars.

In Belfast, New Kids on the Block will be playing new material from their well-received comeback album The Block, with current single Summertime sure to be included despite the winter scheduling of the gig.

However, classic tracks such as Hangin' Tough and Step By Step are also gain new admirers and get old fans reminiscing.

Jordan Knight of the US band told the Edmonton sun: "I think for me, enough time has passed since the New Kids went away and I think curiosity and enough longing for it has built up."
